Champions League Update

Some teams have already qualified, some might be decided in a fortnight, some may go to the wire. With Chelsea's point at the Nou Camp last night they have impressed the bookies enough to be favourites to lift the cup. Lyon is a strange one at 8/1 - they're a good team but they don't get tested week-in week-out in France's Ligue 1 like other teams - but maybe that gives them a chance to relax in-between Champion League rounds. Real Madrid at 10/1 looks a good bet - they recently beat Barca in La Liga and have built a well-rounded squad who are on form - don't be surprised to see them do well. Werder Bremen maybe as a dark horse bet at a generous 33/1 could be worth a bet but anyone outside them is very unlikely to lift the cup in May.
