Sevilla win the UEFA Cup

It was a very evenly fought game which turned on the sending off of Espanyol's Moises Hurtado at 1-1. Adriano for Sevilla and Riera for Espanyol.
Sevilla were looking favourites to win it when Kanoute put Sevilla 2-1 up in the second half but a strike from Jonatas levelled the game at 2-2.
Extra time was mostly Sevilla's but Espanyol kept them out to let penalties decide the match. It was Sevilla's keeper Palop who was the hero saving 3 Espanyol penalties and gave Sevilla their 2nd consecutive UEFA cup. |
