North England vs South England On 22/08/07 by ed After seeing England lose to Germany I thought I might have a tinker with the squad by seeing who has the better England team - the north or south. For players to qualify for the north they have to be born north of the Watford Gap - and south, south of the Watford Gap. So here we go in a standard 4-4-2 formation:
[North]
-------------------Robinson---------------
--Richards--Carragher--Woodgate--P.Neville
--Pennant----Gerrard----Carrick----Downing
--------------Owen------Rooney------------
[South]
-------------------James------------------
Young-------Ferdinand---Terry-------A.Cole
Beckham-----Lampard----Barry--------J.Cole
-------------Defoe-----Bent---------------
That's a tough one to call and I'd like to see those two play against each other.
By comparing position for position I get 5 vs 5 with out-field players, with the south better defensively and the north better offensively. |
