Rafa Benitez's tactics where absolutely spot on and handed Chelsea their 1st home league defeat in something like 4 years. Xabi Alonso's first half deflected volley was the difference - he went close in the second half with a guided free-kick that struck the post. Man of the Match was given to Jamie Carragher who was solid, but Mascherano must have been close with a superb defensive performance.
