This allows you to choose from a few national teams to play in a world cup qualifier type structure before then going on to play in the “International Cup” should you qualify. It's not a bad mode for those one-players who don't just plunge into the Master League.

Speaking of which, you can choose to enable your Master League team to compete in online games and tournaments. If you select this option when starting your Master League you will start with the old school default Master League players regardless of which team you choose but then once you've assmbled the team of your dreams you'll be able to use them online in certain tournaments.
