PES 2008 - First Impressions On 09/10/07 by ed They've got for a futuristic sort of bubble effect for the menu system. The background music is more rock than the dance PES 6. One of the songs sounds like a cross between Offspring and the Corrs! But there's quite a mix in the jukebox - as I'm typing this there's a samba beat just come on
The game itself is slick, lighter, bouncier and crisper than PES 6 it has to be said from what I've seen. The ball bounces more and low drill shooting is miles better. There's still a lot of niggly fouls going on, but I'm liking what I've seen so far...more to come...
+ Cross field balls miles better
- It's a bit slippy sometimes
+ Long balls better
+ Keepers goal-kicks further?
+ Close-up chip shots are infrequent
+ Direct free-kicks a lot better
+ The delayed shot has gone
- Attackers sometimes over-luckily run-through defenders
+ Bookings for divers!
+ Player's faces are very realistic
+ Attackers make clever runs across the defence
+ Reverse passes are much slicker
