PES 2009

PES 2009 is the latest installment of the award-winning Pro Evolution Soccer Series, which is known by millions of fans for its superior gameplay and incredible realism. For PES 2009, Konami is already planning a raft of extensive new additions that will further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing. The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts. Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.

I wish they would just say they've fixed the online lag - that would be the best way to advertise it.

A bit more here

Here's some other things I'd like to see changed/improved:

Speed of throw-ins and free-kicks

You have to wait a while to take a throw-in/freekick. Sometimes you see a player in space and want to pass, but you have to wait and the opposition often mark-up by then.

Bring back old-style penalties

I'd like to see the old ISS style penalties in PES - the ones where the cursor is flying about - miles better than the six option in PES. Like this

More online options

PS2 had cups, how come the XBox 360 doesn't? Maybe leagues as well. The master league is good, but it's getting a bit over-used - online is the future.

Who care's about licensing/boot colours/blahdy blah

It's the gameplay where PES has always been the master over FIFA.

The commentary is naff

PES needs some decent commentary - sometimes it's completely opposite to what's actually happening.

Get rid of super-human players

Sometimes you can just run straight through an opposition's defence and they just get brushed aside ie. Adriano, Ronaldinho, Messi etc

Refs too strict

I've had players sent off for fouls where the opposition player didn't even get upended. And bookings for tackles where you clearly get the ball.
